Job Description : | Executive Personnel Group has a direct hire opportunity for a Value Stream Manager in the Automotive industry. This position is located in Roxboro, NC.Responsible for leading all manufacturing activities within the value stream in accordance with lean methodology and our clients Core Values to achieve value stream KPI’s. This role requires strong people leadership and resource management skills to deliver against performance objectives focused on continuous improvement and people development within the value stream.Key ResponsibilitiesEnvironment, Health, and SafetyKey Performance Indicators: Lost Time Accidents (LTA), Recordable Incidents (RIR)Ø Accountable for implementation and sustainment of the company’s Health and Safety procedures for all personnel in the Value Stream.Ø Accountable for all relevant Value Stream Health, Safety, and Environment (EHS) violations and closure of the subsequent Corrective Action Plans (CAP’s) by using the appropriate Practical Problem Solving (PPS) tools and techniques.Ø Ensure risk assessments are updated and maintained as required including process change, engineering change, new machinery, etc.QualityKey Performance Indicators: Customer Concerns, Scrap, Not Right First Time (NRFT)Ø Fully accountable for all aspects of quality from raw material reception through to finished product shipmentØ Create and champion improvement plans of all manufacturing processes to enable right first time performance.Ø Ensure effective problem resolution using relevant data as required.Ø Ensure customer protection is in place and that countermeasures are completed in a timely manner.Ø Accountable for demonstrating awareness and application of relevant company procedures including conformity to customer specific requirements and any other relevant certification processes.Ø Accountable for concern closure within the agreed timescales.DeliveryKey Performance Indicators: Inventory Management and Delivery Schedule Achievement (DSA)Ø Accountable for achieving on time delivery to all external and internal customersØ Accountable for overall capacity requirements communications and planning for people, machine and support functions within the value stream support organizations to ensure continuous flow through the value stream.Ø Accountable for defining and implementing flow systems, in line with the Future State Value Stream Map, to meet customers’ requirements. This will include forecasts of demand, safety stock levels, alternative manufacturing sourcing, customer approvals processes, etc. Work with suppliers, procurement, our clients support facilities globally, and shared resources as required.CostKey Performance Indicators: OEE, Productivity (PP1), Return on Sales (ROS)Ø Accountable for the Value Stream budget, possessing sufficient knowledge of local operations to understand changes in performance and implement immediate countermeasures.Ø Champion the definition of requirements and communicate the need for capital expenditures for the value stream, escalate out of control conditions, and implement recovery plans.Ø Provide input to Finance for budget development.LeadershipØ Accountable for all communication with Value Stream Leaders, Team Leaders, value stream support staff, and relevant operations personnel.Ø Support Value Stream Leaders and Team Leaders in acting as a Key Communicator. Communicate consistently and effectively to all employee representatives, external suppliers, management team and customers as appropriate. Provide appropriate feedback on a regular and as-needed basis.Ø Actively resolve issues using standard model of leadership behavior: setting expectations, coaching, recognition, constructive feedback, and escalation where appropriate.Ø Lead and sponsor improvement activities using lean methodology, tools, and techniques. Ensure that all team members have equal opportunity to contribute to improvement and identify training needs within the team.Ø Ensure and enhance a people focused environmentØ Manage employee relations on a day-to-day basis, working within our clients procedures and ensure effective interfaces with employees’ representatives.Ø Support and monitor the development of all employees in value streams and support functions via Personal Development Plans (PDPs), reviews and feedbackØ Ensure Value Stream Leaders review current skills against predictive requirements and support the development and maintenance of skills matrix accordinglyØ Coach and manage the Value Stream Leaders, Team Leaders, and direct reports through their Personal Development Review (PDR) and Personal Development Plans (PDP) to improve Value Stream performance.Ø Promote and deliver Employee Involvement (EI) through behavioral leadershipØ Promote and develop EI activities and ensure effective shift start up meetings around PVDs (Primary Visual Displays) and allocate time for Value Stream Leaders to lead weekly/monthly EI activities.Qualification and SkillsFormal QualificationsEssentialFour year Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
