Job Description : The Doughnut Peddler is an established, 30-year-old company that manufactures and distributes fresh bakery products to over 4,000 convenient stores on a nightly basis.This formerly small family business is now all grown up but still maintains the benefits of a small family business culture, where each employee is valued and an open door policy is applied in every area that we service.Our combined bakeries manufacture over 2 million doughnuts each week, and our distribution teams drive enough miles each day to circle the earth. The Doughnut Peddler is continuing to expand, and we are now seeking a highly qualified and self-motivated individual to join our SQF/EHS team.Our SQF and EHS Coordinator will be the heart of quality and safety in our Orlando bakery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for process improvement and strong analytical skills, coupled with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. He/she will need to perform exceptionally well as both an integral member of a team and as an individual contributor.Food Safety and Quality· Serve as on-site expert in compliance with company Preventive Controls for Food Safety Plan & HACCP program· Manage Site Food Safety documents & conduct risk assessments & root cause analysis· Collaborate with facility production managers, sanitation & other team members to verify effectiveness of Site Specific Food Safety plan· Supervise sanitation team & coordinate with antimicrobial vendors to ensure effective sanitation program· Conduct daily start-up inspections prior to production· Oversee day-to-day quality assurance activities· Train new staff as needed· Collect QA data, analyze & distribute to management daily· Responsible for the inventory & purchasing within department· Safety training, Food Safety programs, & OSHA standards· Maintain compliance of raw material receiving and traceability· Assist Sr. Food Safety Manager with site specific mock recalls· Facilitates with Sr. Food Safety Manager all regulatory & 3rd party inspections· Responsible for all Food Safety Document control.· Responsible for coordinating and documenting site specific Food Safety Training Program.· Assist Sr. Food Safety Manager in aligning processes, department procedures/project and employee performances.· Manage and maintain Environmental Monitoring Program for the facility.· Track and report safety audit results to Senior Management.· Support other departments’ managers in audit projects and corrective actions.· Perform internal quality audits in the facility and implement corrective actions based on audit results.· Maintain a current library of all SOPs in compliance with FDA, USDA, AIB and SQF.· Ensure facility compliance to any legal requirements and other applicable regulations· Maintain a current library of all SOPs in compliance with FDA, FSMA, HACCP, OSHA, and SQF.· Assist in ensuring that all employees follow all company policies and procedures with safety regulations GMP, HACCP, and SQF requirements.· Manage SOP training spreadsheet on a weekly basis. Ensure tracking of SOP training is taking place. Track and report the progress of the SOP program on a weekly basis.· Create labels, order and assist in plant signage to comply with safety and GMP regulations.· Able to achieve HACCP and SQF certification· Verify the PM program on a weekly, monthly basis- to ensure compliance.Industrial (EHS) Safety· Provide technical safety and health support to on site production personnel.· Help eliminate or control hazardous conditions resulting from human error, equipment and machine operations which may lead to human injury and/ or property damage.· Verified site compliance with health and safety regulations and ensure all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines for the specific site.· Assist in the management of standard operating procedures, process improvements, process preparation and review of procedural documents.· Assist management in managing the priorities of the department. Facilitate SOP development, updates, review, and cross training. Consult with management and other department heads as appropriate.· Interact with peers within the organization as needed to ensure safety in the workplace.· Directs company’s safety programs to protect employees against harm and maintain safe working conditions.· Formulate and suggests work safely standards and enforces procedures. Risk prevention areas include hazardous material exposure, accidents, fires, or other unsafe conditions. Meets compliance and reporting requirements of federal or state regulations.· Assist in activities for safety committee and provide appropriate safety trainings.· Conduct periodic safety and health walk- through inspections of all workplace facilities.· Conduct safety training and all other specifically required training is provided for all employees.· Able to achieve OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification· Assist and ensure facility compliance to any legal requirements and other applicable regulations.· Create digital and paper announcements, flyers and any other communications as needed.· Control all visuals on the company SOP display monitor.· Manage training matrix spreadsheet.· Record and maintain safety training program for personnel, including initial new hire safety training, site specific, and trade specific trainings. Identify and resolve training deficiencies.· Maintain all required site specific reports including SDS, Form 100, OSHA 300 and 301.· Perform safety and housekeeping audits in own and other facilities when requested.Operations· Assist GM and senior operations management with the tracking of operation KPIs and operations trend reports.· Assist GM with weekly reports are requested per senior management.· Conducts all required new hire trainings for personnel in operations.· Support corporate/site engineering to implement engineering controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.· Serve as member of executive safety committee.· Review process operating procedures/batch records.· Advice manufacturing site of corporate regulatory changes with which the site must comply. Sufficient advance notice should be provided so that compliance on the effective date of new regulations is assured.· Assist with the DC food safety and employee safety audits.Skills Needed: Performance Management: assist management for assigned production linesProblem Solving/AnalysisResults DrivenTime Management: tracking/monitoring production and maintaining productivityTechnical Capacity: computer literacy to input information into the computerLearning Orientation: able to take direction and relay information to employeesStrong communication skills with the ability to discuss and generate business reports, business correspondence, and procedure documentsRequirements: High School Degree or 1 to 3 years of job-related experience.
