Job Description : JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition SummaryThe Maintenance Specialist assists with the preventative maintenance and repair of installed physical security systems comprised of active vehicle barriers, passive barriers, mobile vehicle barriers and electronic security systems. This position works closely with senior Global GRAB Technologies, Inc. technicians to ensure that maintenance actions and repairs are completed in a timely manner per all applicable standards, and the systems remain operational as designed.SpecificationsHigh School Diploma or Equivalent is requiredEducation Associate degree in engineering technology or electronics is preferred or,Industrial Maintenance or electronics trade school certification.Certifications Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record is required and Licenses Any licenses to operate forklifts or other heavy equipment is a plusKnowledge, Familiarity with basic mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems is requiredSkills and Proficiency with basic hand tools, power tools, and equipment is requiredAbilities Basic computer proficiency in is required, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook2 years of experience in a construction trade, maintenance technician, equipment operator, or other related field is requiredExperience Experience with complex mechanical and/ or electrical systems is preferredExperience with electronics such as PLCs, UPS units, or VFDs is a plusFunctional/Technical Skills: Possesses high level of technical knowledge across electrical, mechanical, and related disciplines.Learning on the Fly: Possesses ability to learn new concepts quickly, understanding how things work, using experiences from successes and failures, and incorporating new ideas to generate better solutions.Problem Solving: Possesses keen ability to solve problems using effective root cause analysis to ensure effective solutions are implemented.Technical Learning: Possesses technical learning ability to quickly adapt new knowledge and acquire skills as new products are developed and installed.Key Planning: Plans work by setting objectives and goals, scoping out the work to be done, developingCompetencies process steps, adjusting for known and unforeseen problems, and evaluating results.Customer Focus: Operates from a “customer-first” approach to maintain a high level of satisfaction from internal and external customers; establishes and maintains effective relationships with internal and external customers and gains trust and respect.Integrity and Trust: Pursues work in a manner that establishes and builds trust and integrity by working in an open, truthful, and ethical manner.Self-Motivated: Must be able to work towards a goal individually to meet or exceed expectations set by management or client.Adaptation: Have a willingness to adapt and show flexibility to customer’s needs and support them in times of high security needs.Department Service Position Title Maintenance SpecialistReports To Service Manager FLSA Status Exempt Effective Date 4/19/2021Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)Assist more experienced technicians with routine preventive maintenance on a variety of active vehicle barrier systems and integrated electronic security systems to maintain or restore the system’s integrity (90%)Document all work with appropriate service forms, repair tickets, or warranty records to ensure traceability and provide data for billing (10%)Complete minor and major mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs, control system corrections, component replacement, and structural damage as required.Evaluate system damage from vehicle impact, and other routine and complex tasks on a range of perimeter security systems, both company designed and systems from other manufacturers.Perform routine preventive maintenance steps on a variety of physical security systems, including cleaning, operational checks, mechanical adjustments, servicing lubricants, and replacing hydraulic fluid and other consumable materials.Ensure client is informed of work completed and aware of operational status of the systems during debriefs after each visit.Additional ResponsibilitiesSuccessfully complete training and/or certification classes required for access to specific client sites, to perform maintenance and repair on new physical security systems, and to attain required safety training certification.Exemplifies the company’s corporate values of innovation, quality, customer service, and integrity.Operates with a high degree of integrity in the performance of duties to foster good working relationships and a spirit of teamwork to accomplish job goalsPerforms all tasks in a safe and efficient manner to protect self, others, products, materials, and other Company assets from harm.Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor to contribute to the overall efficient operation and continuous process improvement of the CompanyPosition requires up to 75% paid travel within the United States. This is normally around 4 nights per week away form home for most techs but this tech position will be working in home area more than technicians from other areas of the US.Ability to work alone in some instances without direct supervision.Working ConditionsWork is performed primarily outdoors with exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid or windy conditions.Work is performed primarily at night between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM but some clients do require work to be completed during the hours of 7 PM and 5 AM.Worker is frequently exposed to various levels of constant or intermittent noise.Worker is occasionally exposed to dust and fumes.Travel to customer sites will require the ability to drive a motor vehicle for extended time or fly via commercial airlines.Physical/Mental Requirements * Mobility (i.e., walking, standing and climbing) to gain access to customer sites and location of equipment.Crouching and kneeling when working on systems at lower levels and in tight quarters.Climbing when working on ladders and scaffolding to reach and service equipment.Manual dexterity involving telephone, keyboard, and other office machine operations.Visual acuity when reviewing written information via documents or computer.Lift and transport 50 lbs (up to 10 lbs constantly, 10-20 lbs frequently, and 20-50 lbs occasionally); Lift and transport up to 75 lbs with mechanical support or other means when available.Light to Moderate stress when handling numerous tasks and troubleshooting deficiencies in equipment.Job Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 – $30.00 per hourBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:8 hour shiftEducation:High school or equivalent (Preferred)Experience:maintenance technician: 2 years (Preferred)License/Certification:Driver’s License (Required)Willingness to travel:100% (Preferred)Work Location: On the road
