SALARY: $55,000.00 – 71,000.00 Annually

JOB SUMMARY:
The Public Works Director is appointed by and reports to the Village Manager. This is a department head level position, one of four within the Village’s organizational structure. The Director has primary responsibility for the organization, operation, and overall performance of the Department, including administration of the Departmental budget and supervision of all Department employees. The Director ensures that Village parks and road infrastructure are operated efficiently and effectively; develops and updates the emergency preparedness plans, including yearly snow removal and potential storm debris; coordinates Village special events in collaboration with the Recreations Director and Village Council; evaluates and oversees Village waste management services.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Engineering or Public Administration preferred.
A high school diploma or GED is required.
Possess and maintain a Commercial Driver License or obtain a Commercial Driver License within three months of appointment. (Loss of CDL is grounds for dismissal).
Three (3) years of managerial experience, preferably in construction, repair, and maintenance of sewer, street or storm drainage systems.
Perform skilled labor construction
