Job Description : Job Title: Project Manager – ProcurementLocation: Channahon, IL Duration: 11+ MonthsTarget start date / availability: The manager is available to conduct preliminary interviews immediately. Total interview process to hire may take 3-4 weeks. Target start ASAPWork Schedule: Full-time position, typically 40-50 hours a week, but additional hours required as dictated by demands of the business.OVERVIEW: Participate on capital projects; responsible for procuring capital equipment and services. Effectively drive costs savings opportunities through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations. Interact with Industrial Management, Operations, Safety, purchasing personnel, and global peers.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Actively participate in initiatives and help to implement program/strategy where appropriateParticipate on capital project teams in all phases of project development, planning, execution & close-out; Engineer – Procure – Construct.Develop, implement procurement strategies designed to maximize value for equipment, materials, and services.Negotiate and/or manage various agreements for engineering services, equipment, and construction.Prepare and analyze bids; develop & implement approved sourcing strategies; make recommendations on supplier selection, use of established Supplier pricing agreementsAlways communicate procurement programs throughout organization, verbally & in writing (memos, letters, presentations, conference calls, etc.) Tracks spend to ensure compliance to strategic procurement programsManage assigned preferred suppliers, measure/monitor performance, and track savingsSupport plant purchasing departments as required.Actively participate as representative on defined global sourcing initiatives, if required.Develop expertise and maintain on-going knowledge for defined group of indirect materials and services as assigned by managementSKILL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field with min. 3-5 years of indirect purchasing experience with an emphasis on capital procurement and project management/controls. PMP Certification a plus.Demonstrate ability to drive procurement programs focused on lowering “total cost of ownership”Self-directed with the ability to work with minimal supervisionExperience working with project teams utilizing project management best practices.Ability to develop reports to monitor and report suppliers’ savings and performanceExcellent verbal and written communication with the ability to interact at all levels of the organizationStrong analytical and organizational skillsMulti-task management experienceAgribusiness knowledge desiredMultilingual skills desired Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, SAP preferred’Job Types: Full-time, ContractPay: From $65.00 per hourSchedule:8 hour shiftEducation:Associate (Preferred)Experience:Purchasing: 3 years (Required)Capital Procurement: 5 years (Required)Project Management: 1 year (Required)Work Location: One location
