We are looking for a Process Engineer responsible for improving existing and creating new processes aimed at extrusion productivity, recovery and efficiency optimization. This individual will work with a growing engineering department and will report to the Technical Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Develops manufacturing processes (recipe) for new and existing products to achieve optimal extrusion productivity and recovery.
Partners with manufacturing personnel to identify and resolve extrusion process issues by developing robust extrusion processes and optimizing the manufacturing process.
Supports and trains operators in the fundamentals of the Extrusion process.
Solve complex technical problems to root cause by providing metallurgical or materials expertise to manufacturing processes.
Conduct and analyze plant trials to support new products and problem solving.
Interprets failure data and tests to identify material issues
Works closely with Sales, Manufacturing, Die Shop and Quality Departments.
Complies and promotes Safety initiatives within normal job duties as well as throughout the operation.
Support Advanced Product Quality Planning
Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
Part Control Plan
Pre-Launch Part Control Plan – (GP-12; Early Production Validation Plan)
Run @ Rate Analysis
Error and Mistake Proofing
Problem Solving
Process Monitoring and Operating Instructions
Process Improvement ActivitiesYield ImprovementProcess Analysis / Root Cause for repeat DMRs, CCNs
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Material Science or a related field.
5 years or more experience with Aluminum Extrusion processing supporting manufacturing operations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem solver.
Ability to work independently or in a Team environment. |
