Job Description : Our Raytheon Technologies – Intelligence & Space business unit has an exciting new opportunity for a Principal Electronics Technician. The position is located in our Fort Wayne, Indiana offices and will allow you the opportunity to apply your knowledge in support of our most important Electronic Warfare (EW) and electronics product development initiatives for defense-based applications. The Principal Electronics Technician will be working in an engineering environment. This will include tasks such as trouble shooting and repairing of modules and assemblies, testing module assemblies and assembling them into final units for sell off. Analyze equipment failures to determine cause and recommend corrective action. This Principal Electronics Technician will diagnose and troubleshoot problems that are associated with the system and work with Engineers to resolve all issues. The Technician will work under immediate supervision and achieves technical guidance, as required, from Program and Product Engineers. Responsibilities Include:Work as a “team member” to operate module and final testing systems.Monitor assigned equipment status and corrects faults in a timely manner.Repair and install various types of cables, modules and assemblies required for testing.Work with other technical staff overseeing repairs and modifications of modules and assemblies.Take test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers and oscilloscopes.Provide written input for tracking the testing and repair of modules and assembliesRecord all repair, non-repair, and data into the information management system.Use Raytheon’s production tracking program (Training class will be provided) to log work orders and initiate procurement requests.Perform other tasks and perform work at other lines of business as assigned by the Raytheon Team Leader in a manner that enhances customer satisfaction. Required Skills:8 Years experience as an electronic technician or other related field.Knowledge of basic electricity, electronic theory and able to read and understand electrical diagrams.Ability to apply that knowledge to duties involved in engineering functions such as design, development, evaluation, testing, installation and maintenance of electronic equipment.Knowledge of the capabilities, limitations, operations, design characteristics, and functional use of a variety of types and models of electronic equipment and systems. Such knowledge is related to but less than a full professional knowledge of electronics engineering.Familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.Ability to apply basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers’ manuals or similar documents.Knowledge to trace cables, troubleshoot circuits, and installation of analog, digital. ?Computer literate.Will be required to travel per direction of Raytheon Team Leadership.Will be required to work in compliance with OSHA and Raytheon safety policies and procedures as appropriate. Requires advanced to expert knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have broad knowledge of project management. Requires substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems in order to provide enhancements within job area. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.
