You will be involved in the installation, commissioning, and aftermarket support of automated bandsaws that are used in meat processing factories and warehouses.The Field Service Engineer will be part of our BladeStop™ team, and be responsible for the service of our bandsaw products. Scott’s award winning BladeStop™ bandsaw is uniquely designed to reduce the risk of serious injury by mechanically stopping the blade when the unit senses that the operator has come in contact. Join a global team, making a difference in the automation industryEssential Duties and RequirementsResponsible for troubleshooting Bladestop saws at the initial power-up.Responsible for preparing Bladestop saws to customer specifications.Responsible for evaluating and repairing any alarms or malfunctions.Responsible for assembling and rebuilding of Bladestop saws.Responsible for following the Standard Operating Procedures in order to perform the required Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) before shipping to the customer for install.Responsible for the install at the customer’s facility, commissioning for safe use, and training the customer in daily operation & maintenance.Travel outside of the office is minimum 70% of the timeQualificationsThe ability to travel up to 90% of the timeMinimum Associate’s Degree in engineering or related schooling/on-the-job education in a specific skill area; technical degree or higher may be acceptable with demonstrated extensive hands-on equivalent experienceMinimum 2 years’ experience with automation maintenanceIntermediate level understanding in electrical troubleshooting to fault find and service electrical equipmentMinimum 2 years’ experience in Pneumatics & Mechanical troubleshooting to identify and resolve mechanical problems while on siteThorough knowledge and understanding of standard instrumentation and devices used in maintenance roles.Practical, highly adaptable, resourceful and organizedProven track record of successful problem-solving skills.Ability to solve problems on the spot and complete the work thoroughly.Self-motivated, confident, able to conduct training in small groups.
