Lockheed Martin is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support fabrication and procurement activities associated with a challenging production and/or Development type program. The engineer will be responsible for: Performing conceptual / detail, drawing revisions / release and engineering change notice creation. Develop / revise hardware standard repair procedures. Perform engineering liaison activities during hardware fabrication / procurement. Hardware development will require: Basic assembly and installation modeling using a 3D CAD Software tool (CREO) and creation of 2D production type drawings. Coordination with other engineering disciplines. Tolerance analysis. Interface with other functional departments (manufacturing engineering, production operations, quality assurance, materials). Vendor / supplier coordination. Travel to support and provide technical assistance to existing/new suppliers, support hardware fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing activities, and provide on-site support to vendors as needed. Relocation is possible for this exciting position. The Locale: Grand Prairie is part of the “Mid-Cities” region in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex which is in the North Central region of Texas. Grand Prairie is a suburb of both Dallas and Fort Worth. The region offers a great cost of living combined with an extensive economy and a pleasant climate. This North Central region of Texas is a great place to live and to raise a family. The region is home to numerous colleges and universities to include University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas at Arlington, University of North Texas, Southern Methodist University, and Texas Woman’s University.
