We like to have fun.The XLM Systems team (Exterior Lighting and Mirror) is responsible for the development of the following visibility components: All exterior lighting including headlamps, markers, turn-signal, signature, and accent lighting. Primary and auxiliary mirror/vision systems. New vision technologies such as advanced dynamic lighting and mirror camera systems. The disciplined Feature ownership process and systems engineering philosophy are relatively new to Cab Engineering and will be emphasized and implemented within the XLM team. Our motto is to, “See and be seen”.ResponsibilitiesFeature owner & systems engineering representative for XLM team and Cab Engineering with primary focus on systems ownership and implementation for MCS “Mirror Camera Systems” (XP-275 Vehicle Side View, mirror camera system) and additional exterior lighting featuresOwn features along the “V-model”, from the customer requirements, specification, patent potential, FuSa, DFMEA, all the way to the DVP&R and release of the featureUnderstand industry trends, customer requirements, as well as safety and compliance regulations and standards related to exterior lighting and indirect vision systemsMust have knowledge, or ability to learn DTNA vehicle EE-architecture including but not limited to CANmessage protocols, wiring diagrams, installation practices, sensor fusion, and safety system integrationResponsible for building deep technical knowledge and competence of MCS systems, exterior lighting, and vehicle EE architecture within Cab Exterior XLM team and within DTNA, including the global TT/S organizationDesign and develop driver & vehicle visibility systems in the Cab Engineering – Exterior team that are reliable, serviceable, innovative, and meet or exceed compliance and regulationsInterface and coordinate with Suppliers, Purchasing, Materials, Manufacturing, Quality, Warranty, Marketing, Design Center, and other Engineering personnel during the development and testing phaseInterface with TE and TA colleagues to build and maintain global collaboration.
