|Job Description :||A great opportunity to become part of our corporate team, supporting the environmental operations across the organization.Position Title: Environmental EngineerLocation: Coeur d’Alene Corporate OfficePurpose: The Environmental Engineer conducts studies, analyzes and synthesizes resultant data to determine the possible effects of mine development and operation on the environment. Operates and maintains systems to prevent or minimize negative effects on that environment, by performing the following duties.Reports To: Director, Environmental OperationsObjectives, Tasks & Standards Collects and synthesizes data derived from monitoring activities; prepares graphs, charts, and statistical models in support of data understanding, tracking, and reporting.Conducts environmental assessments and presents results in written and oral reports to both corporate and regulatory agencies. Review and evaluate field collected data to support data gap analyses and selection of remedial options. Interpret findings and prepare and/or review technical reportsAdministers various levels of water quality and other monitoring programs including performing field sampling, following quality assurance/quality control plans, validating database information and coordinating with laboratory personnel.Requires functional use of the environmental databases (EDMS, Access and Excel) and troubleshoots problems. Also participates in the operation, equipment maintenance, data acquisition and reporting of the NPDES required monitoring system.Coordinates and works extensively with sites and other departmentsMonitor performance reports for trends and conditions and identify and possibly implement corrective action to reduce or eliminate problems.Peer review environmental documents for other environmental staffParticipates in the development, administration and maintenance of environmental policies and procedures. Works with federal, state, local regulatory agencies to stay apprised of regulatory laws. Ensures that all operational activities are in accordance with the safety, health and environmental standards and regulations set forth by the Company and federal, state and local regulatory agencies.Works with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.Maintain a competent level of knowledge of environmental permit conditions and environmental regulations applicable to the site. Assist with and/or manage permitting activitiesProvides support and expertise in identifying site risks and hazards and provides recommendations on appropriate actions to mitigate risks.Assists with the response and investigation of environmental incidents.Must follow and understand MSHA/NRC/IDEQ/IDWR /EPA (including but not limited to RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, EPCRA) rules and regulations, SOP and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities.Comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations. Conducts activities and work in an environmentally responsible manner.
