||Soderberg Manufacturing produces a wide array of Interior & Exterior aircraft lighting fixtures and electronics, engineered and manufactured nearly 100% at our Walnut, California facility. Our lighting product line includes, but is not limited to: Navigation, Formation, Anti-Collision, In-Flight Refueling, Landing/Taxi, Tail Illumination, Interior/Utility, & Emergency Lights among others. Our lights are available in single or dual mode, Night Vision Goggle (NVG) Compatible, covert Infrared (I.R.), Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS) Friendly; Light Emitting Diodes (LED), etc. Our products are built from concept to production under one roof in southern California.Job Responsibilities:Analyze customer requirements to develop detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications.Validate designs through various methods of review, testing and analysisProvide engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product.Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet evolving requirements.The ability to work within a team environment with minimal supervision and to carry this work ethic forward with applicable Client, Company, and Industry standards.Ensure the drawings are in accordance with the applicable standards, client requirements and relevant project specifications.Participate in design review with other disciplines involved and to advise on technical design issues and compliance requirements as deemed appropriate.Hands-on participation in prototype assembly and troubleshooting.Positive, Proactive and Problem-Solving Mindset with attention to details and willingness to seek out solutions.Process engineering change orders and product improvements.Knowledge/ExperiencePower electronics design, testing and troubleshooting experience required.PCB design software experience (Altium preferred).Thermal management of power electronics and LEDs experienceEMI/EMC design, testing and troubleshooting experienceMTBF and component derating calculationsFMECAPCB Assembly, Soldering, and Prototyping experience preferredExperience with CAD Software Required (AutoCAD preferred)Lighting design experience including chromaticity, radiance, and optical systems strongly preferredEducation:Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited universityBenefit Conditions:Waiting period may applyThis Company Describes Its Culture as:Detail-oriented — quality and precision-focusedStable — traditional, stable, strong processesTeam-oriented — cooperative and collaborativeCOVID-19 Precaution(s):Personal protective equipment provided or requiredPlastic shield at work stationsTemperature screeningsSocial distancing guidelines in placeSanitizing, disinfecting, or cleaning procedures in placeWork RemotelyNoJob Type: Full-timePay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per yearBenefits:Dental insuranceHealth insurancePaid time offSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayAbility to commute/relocate:Walnut, CA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)Education:Bachelor’s (Required)Experience:Electrical engineering: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
