We are seeking like-minded people who inspire others with their drive, determination, and unshakable work ethic, to join our team.About the RoleThe Mechanical Engineer II designs, develops, and tests all aspects of satellite and launch vehicle components and assemblies. The Engineer applies knowledge of engineering principles to design products and conducts product testing, creating models and prototypes.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Design satellite and launch vehicle components and assembliesDevelop manufacturing drawings for components and interact with machine shops and fabrication facilitiesSupport in house manufacturing with tooling design and equipment selectionPlan and conduct environmental, operational and stress tests on models and prototypes of spacecraft systems and equipmentEvaluate designs to see that the products meet engineering principles, customer requirements, environmental regulations, and the necessary safety and efficiency standardsDevelop acceptance criteria for design methods, quality standards, sustainment after delivery, and completion datesEvaluate product data and design from inspections and reports for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, and quality standardsDevelop design criteria for spacecraft and satellites, including testing methods, production costs, quality standards, and completion datesDevelop new technologies for use in spacecraft and satellitesWrite design proposals, reports, manuals, and other technical documentsInterface with customersPerform other work-related duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)BS in engineering (mechanical or electrical preferred)5+ years’ experience in designing, manufacturing, testing, and operating support systems for complex high-performance systems; aerospace systems preferredFamiliarity with launch operations safety regulations (e.g., AFSPCMAN 91-710, AFI 91-217, RCC 321 and FAA Part 450) highly desiredSelf-starter with an entrepreneur mindsetStrong reputation of collaboration and innovation, and a proven track record of performance on high-tech systems.Demonstrated ability to lead diverse multidisciplinary teams of employees, vendors, and consultants to achieve objectives in highly dynamic environmentsDemonstrated ability to be resourceful and innovative with emphasis on identifying and resolving problems in operational systemsInternal drive and desire to continue to learn, grow, teach/mentor, and do mighty things.Must be equally comfortable working with company executives and in-the-fieldThe company is an Equal Opportunity Employer, drug free workplace, and complies with ADA regulations as applicable.Job Type: Full-timePay: From $65,000.00 per yearBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayWork Location: One location|
