The individual performs calculations, system design, equipment selections, reports, progress submittals and BIM instructions for their project to assure project completeness and accuracy within the allocated period and monetary budget. All of these are done in accordance with Formica & Associates design standards. Additionally, this individual will communicate and coordinate with other electrical staff to produce drawings as needed.Principal ResponsibilitiesDesign portions of a project related to electrical systems according to code and F&A standards to produce construction drawings for permitting purposes.Research resources for commercially available equipment.Provide good client relations, project design notebook, and provide documentation for permanent record files.Coordinating design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers.Documenting design decisions, meetings, and instructions from client promptly while monitoring project design progress.Assist with review of all project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check.Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information.Review design methods, procedures, changes in scope, and client correspondence with the Lead Engineer.Review all drawings to ensure technical accuracy and continuity prior to signing and sealing documents for permit submissionSign and seal all electrical engineering documentsAssist with training junior staffAssist with creating project checklists to ensure standards are being metOther duties assigned by the employer.SkillsKnowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and drawings for use in permitting and construction in the AEC industry.Knowledge and prediction of physical principles, laws, and their interrelationships, and applications to understanding fluid, material, and atmospheric dynamics.Skill in the use of Autodesk Revit software, AutoCAD software, Bluebeam, DIALUX, Microsoft Office. All drawings produced are exclusively in Revit.Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written English with individuals or groupsEducation and ExperienceProfessional Engineer license in Florida (We will consider candidates without a Florida Professional Engineer License but must undergo the process of obtaining it in the next six months at the latest).Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.Minimum of five years of qualifying experience in the MEP industry.90% Remote work. Must reside in the state of Florida and able to do field work when required.
