Join our team as a Design Engineer – Electrical Component Mechanical Integrator (Hybrid). Job Summary We are looking for a Design Engineer to help drive the design and development of Electrical Systems, focused on the mechanical integration of electrical components & harness routing, for H-D’s future portfolio of vehicles at the Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) in Wauwatosa, WI. Job Responsibilities In this position, you will work with an experienced cross-functional engineering team and have design and delivery ownership for electrical component integration of various electrical components. You will utilize the “Great Harley-Davidson Engineering” design framework, implement MX development methodology, and design for quality processes. Specific deliverables include: Compile electrical component packaging requirements (orientation, temperature, vibration, etc.) through collaboration and input from component owners and suppliersSupport project team in developing packaging solutions to fit all electrical components in the vehicle while meeting individual component requirements, broader vehicle requirements and design for assembly.Resolve technical issues by applying problem solving techniques and facilitating cross-functional engineering & test support as neededSupport vehicle-level system integration activitiesSupport build events and participate in product test & evaluations as needed Education Requirements Bachelor’s Degree Required Education Specifications This position requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering with a strong mechanical background. Experience Requirements The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of relevant design experience in related field. In addition, they will have demonstrated the following: Success in directly or indirectly leading a team or supplier to meet aggressive quality, cost, timing, and performance objectives.Success in directly using 3D CAD, engineering calculations, analysis/simulation and GD&T. Including experience with large assembly management. Creo experience preferred.Ability to manage parts and assemblies within the Windchill Part Life Cycle Management System.Success in solving challenging technical problems in a team environment.Experience in Design for Assembly and Design for Manufacturing at component and system levels.Ability to communicate technical subjects in a clear, concise manner to multiple levels of the organization.Ability to work with diverse global teams both internally and externally (suppliers).Experience designing and developing systems/components utilizing multiple manufacturing processes from concept to production. Plastic component design a plus.
