|Job Description :||SUMMARY: A subsidiary of an Energy Services Organization worth hundreds of Billions of dollars which services several Global Industry Verticals seeks a CLIENT OWNER’S ENGINEER for a mass power storage program for an enterprise client involving solar power, energy systems and solutions. As Owner Client Engineer works on Project Management and the Tech Lead for project execution. DAY-TO-DAY: Solar & storage project management including tech assessments, quality assurance/qc documentation, system design, battery specifications, system architecture, (BESS) systems design. Provide detailed conclusions on tech & financial energy modeling assessments for complex solar projects. Document reports encapsulating performance assessment for electrical, structural designs, performance metric calculation for metrics including (ie: power backup, auxiliary supply, battery round-trip efficiency, warrantee/guarantee risk assessment and other areas of technical due diligence. Verification of actual versus operational asset predications using resources and documents, technical data sheets from 3rd party repositories Performance input verification for electricity structural design, Environmental/Stress Thermal screening (ESS) Review single line diagrams, site general arrangements, single-line diagrams, loss diagrams, engineering system designs and Use Case parameterization Perform energy storage technical Due Diligence assessments, review of battery specs, system designs, testing/commissioning procedures & QA/QC documentation Review & provide inputs/feedback on client provided energy models (technical and revenue based) for stand-alone & solar storage projects Provide tech reviews of ESS designs, calculate performance metrics (not limited to); round-trip-efficiency, auxiliary load, degradation, warranty/performance guarantee risks, average State-of-Charge, one-hour discharge, etc. Review 3rd party Independent Engineering reports & equipment technical datasheets Verify actual versus predicted performance of operating assets with documentation & data Gather performance testing info, models of data, verify contract info & estimations Interact with Energy Production Facility Asset Management Team, cross team collaboration & project support collaboration for technology, equipment & design deliverables. Construction process & Project Management, site visits, provide guidelines on metrics for total operations, construction validation & documentation, process-mapping, comparison of model & performance testing Safety & Environmental Compliance, Prepare completion certs for Energy, Engineering, Procurement & Construction Report & mitigate performance issues/causations for underperformance & of underproduction Data & statistical analysis, monitor power production, forecasting & site architecture REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: Min. 7+ yrs. of Proj. Engineering/Owner Engineer/Electrical Engineering exp. including Project Management, Technical Leadership & Electrical Energy Storage Systems maintenance. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Basic understanding of BESS project finance requirements Proven track record of Project Management & Technology Leadership for Energy Storage Systems ie: lithium-ion battery tech, management of thermal systems, fire detection systems, suppression systems, (EMS) “Energy Management Systems”, Systems of Battery Management bi-directional inverters and DC converters, & associated (BoP) “Balance of Plant” equipment Proven abilities to properly articulate highly technical ideas and skills to multiple audiences including technical papers, strong experience in client-reporting Demonstrated knowledge of the following standards: IEEE1547, UL1641, UL9540, UL9540A, & NFPA855 Familiarity with contracts with a utility for distributed generated systems Highly analytical, strong experience with Microsoft Office, including strong working expertise with Word and Excel and other Microsoft Suite Apps. Able to work independently or as part of a team with expert organizational skills Environmental, Quality, Health, Safety compliance Willingness to travel for work as needed (approximately 10-25 percent) Project oversight occasionally at outdoor site locations, comfortable standing, climbing ladders as needed. etc. Willingness to wear protective equipment as needed|
